PHOENIX is about darkness, possibility, perspective and spirit. There is so much darkness in life... so many moments without light and distinction... so many moments that are questionable, tumultuous and confusing. There is a danger in these moments of being consumed, of giving up and giving in. PHOENIX is about taking charge of these moments... about thinking, reflecting, imagining, making choices, and creating your own, real, world. It acknowledges endings as beginnings and beginnings as endings.
“…an intense and demanding work, physically and dramatically… the cast of 32 young dancers rose to the challenge with maturity and verve… Ultimate credit, however, goes to Holland…it is clear that she has the magic touch with young dancers.”
